BLC22 - Musings

It is the halfway point of BLC22, and I am well on my way to my goal of getting back in to the 150s after starting at 173.

I have increased exercise, and just recently tried water aerobics and got back on to an elliptical machine after a disastrous effort with it just three years ago. Let's just say I am not terribly coordinated. I would have tried a line dancing lesson this week, but the instructor got held up at another activity.

I would like to say that my eating has been perfect.

No, I wouldn't, either. I don't want to give the impression that I do this perfectly. I don't.

Three years ago I wanted to lose 2# per week. I did for a while. Then I felt the need to "loosen things up" some, so I reset my program to lose 1# per week. Those extra calories helped. I was still losing, but I had some leeway. I hit my goal weight last October.

I would like to say that I had stayed there. I didn't. I was busy helping my DS with her business moving in the midst of a crisis with my DD. So now I am moving back down to my 150 goal.

If you have been my sparkfriend long, you know I am a big 80/20 kind of gal, and I am realizing that I need to loosen up on myself in other areas of my life and follow the same mantra there as well. The past couple of days have been in the 20% category. Less exercise, looser food choices, less Sparktime...but a rest is good and will enable me to

    Great Job Tammy. Way to work hard and be heading towards that goal. I like that you are giving yourself the benefit of the doubt and allowing the 80/20 in teh rest of your life too. emoticon on trying those new exercises!!!

    Tammy - I love the 80/20 approach. I am going to try and incorporate that mindset into my life as well. I can be really hard on myself if I am not at 120% all the time. Great Blog
