I am hot!

Saturday, July 20, 2013

Literally.

Fever of 104, killer headache. Just took my last aspirin so will have to force myself out to go to the pharmacy this morning, no excuses. Pharmacy will be closed tomorrow, along with the grocery store. And I need a fan since I can no longer keep my window open - Turtle my scaredy cat decided to be brave and go out on the steep pitched roof last night.

Not how I planned to spend my weekend.

Update : fever is now reduced thanks to the aspirin and some more sleep. But I still need to get myself moving to the pharmacy before they close, I can feel the fever starting to creep up again.

This is a very late post and I am glad you survived.

FYI, the doctors at the Mayo Clinic recommend calling your doctor or going to the emergency room if your temperature gets above 103.

Temperatures of 104 and above can cause hallucinations, confusion, irritability, convulsions and severe dehydration.

Some fevers (104+) for three days+ have been reported to cause irreversible brain damage.

I know these things because of experience and my relatively advanced age I assume you've heard the phrase "Older than dirt". I'm older than sand.

I agree...your temp is RED hot..and that is NOT a good thing! emoticon Can you try bringing it down with a good soak in tepid water...maybe add a little epsom salt..that stuff cures EVERYTHING! I hope you are better soon. How about tacking a sheer fabric across the open window so kitty can't get out but you'll still get some breeze?

Hugs to you and get some medical attention if you need it...and I think 104 says you NEED it! emoticon Oh gosh..just realized this blog is WAY old..you obviously got better! emoticon

emoticon I agree-a dr should be consulted if that fever doesn't break, Adults cannot handle the high temps like a child can. Our family dr says anything over 102 in an adult can be serious.

Take care of yourself.

Sounds like you have the flu and you need to be careful with that temp too., 104 is not something to play with. That is serious and can cause you problems. If you still have that temp in the morning then you need to get to the emergency room!
