More storms - So far so good

Saturday, July 20, 2013

Last night, we had a near miss of some nasty storms - this time no added flooding to the areas that hadn't receded yet. Tonight, it's been much better, but it's coming in later in the evening. At least the concert events locally should have gone off uninterrupted.

We went Japanese for Crazy Crew tonight... lunch was a bit of a 'cheat' as well, but still only 290 calories, and only 435mg sodium... I was allowing for the heavy sodium with dinner made with teriyaki and soy sauce :) Another late night upright bike ride tonight for exercise. Hoping that TOMORROW I will be able to mow the front again - before any storms might move in. Who knows what it's going to do.

I need to get back on the rowing machine and elliptical! I don't feel like the bikes are cutting it anymore, and been eating a little closer to the mid-range of the SP calorie range too many days recently... not burning enough on non-mowing days!!!

Tomorrow is the 'official' weigh in day... today was about .6 pounds higher than I want that scale to show tomorrow, so I could record an entire pound - but having all that sodium tonight, I kinda doubt it! So, my only hope to record it before next week, is to see the golden number at least 2 more days (have already seen it one day mid-week)... then I'll allow myself to say it's 'real' and more than likely the .6 and previous .8 and .4 were water from sodium.

Next Thursday is the kidney specialist appt. Since she's the one who overrode my GP's dosage on the Lisinopril, and I'm suffering the dreaded dry cough horribly (it's miserable when you have a migraine, to have that cough!!!) - going to ask HER about switching to another option - perhaps a beta blocker instead of the ACE inhibitors. Years ago, about 13 or so, I was on Monopril and didn't have the cough - so wonder... we'll see what she has to say. If I gotta remember to take a pill every day, I would really prefer one that does NOT cause this dry cough!

So - let's all just keep plugging along and moving!!!

Crazy weather! I am glad your home wasn't affected! And that you didn't get stuck in the water on your way home! I hate driving through water! I would have been beside myself!!

I hate all B.P. meds and sometimes wonder if the older ones are actually safer. When I was pregnant years ago they put me on Aldomet and I did just as well.

Doesn't really seem it's going to happen - radar shows a green splotch pretty much over us now... but I'm not seeing drops. Dew point is at 70... temp keeps bouncing around between 78-79-77-78 - I could easily mow in that - and sweat out some of the excess sodium... but not if there's wetness on the grass - too slippery of a slope ;)

Started really tracking my sodium a few weeks ago, but it hasn't moved me down the scale. I continue to feel good, so I will focus on that!
