My first two miles felt great

Friday, July 19, 2013

It felt a bit cooler this morning so I went for a run along a road that was next to a river. The shade from the trees kept the sun off of me and I felt good running the first two miles. I think I was enjoying it a bit too much and started too fast because the third mile I ended up walking way more than I wanted to.

I am actually enjoying running this year because I actually feel like I am running not just jogging. Although my times do not seem to any faster. I just finally feel like a runner! It has been about 4 years since I started to run. It is such a stress reliever and mood lifter that I often find myself saying, "I NEED to go for a run."

There is still some hot days left, now if I can get out the door earlier maybe I can enjoy that third mile also.

Wow - I sometimes wish I could run - but I don't see myself ever doing that. Brisk walking I enjoy. Sounds like you've got some nice areas in which to run. Keep up the good work. emoticon

You are doing great. I want to run; keep saying I'm going to start (and my knees and hips say, not today...) Working up to it...
Keep it up and stay cool and hydrated!

I have actually increased my speed a bit by using walk/run method. Who knew? I was really shocked that it worked, I am still slow but I work up a good sweat. Tomorrow I'm running the 5k Seaside Beach Run. Should be fun!
