Lazy Friday

Friday, July 19, 2013

Didn't feel like walking today, cold, dreary day still waiting for that rain that was supposed to be here by noon.

Took dh and mil to eye dr. He wasn't pleased that I insisted on going in and hearing what the dr. had to say..Pretty bad.... out of control glaucoma.... also he needs cataracts removed. She hopes to get him in to specialist on a cancellation within 2 mths... (don't know how she came up with 2 mth.)

Brought egg salad sandwiches and homemade soup over to mil's for lunch. She did enjoy about a 1/3 cup of the soup, but said she'd save the sandwich for supper. I don't think she even eats 400 cal a day...She claims she is full. Then we went to put her glasses prescription in and found she could just get the lenses replaced and it was much much cheaper, so it will be 2 weeks.

I made a cabbage roll casserole for supper... I always forget hoe good they are.... Yummy! Finished knitting the hat I started last nite, tired, but couldn't nap..... Also made more of those cauliflower tortillas..... Yummy too!

Quiet nite... even with the 220 channels we now have on tv, there's nothing to watch.. pretty sad, eh?

Posted my food and to try to meet nutrients I was short of, Had a piece of whole wheat toast with peanut butter and honey and a hot chocolate.... still way under, what am I doing different?

Either your lazy day was contagious or mine was! Couldn't get motivated yesterday if my life depended on it. I'm a little more motivated today, but I haven't set the world on fire yet. Have a good weekend.

Lunch sounds yummy!!! I know I have a hard time getting 1,000 calories each day. I have way to many restrictions on what I can eat. Blessings to you for a wonderful weekend.
Blessings and hugs,
Helen

We too have satellite but we very rarely watch it . I like to have an Netflix handy so we just plan that in to our day.

I just had cataract surgery one eye done. We are having the kids get together next week very exciting so I told the Eye Dr I am waiting till September to get the other eye done.

My DH has DRY Macular degeneration. Glaucoma that the eye Dr. keeps his pressure as low as he can and of course cataracts.
They do 15 surgeries a day at my eye Drs.

Take care watch out for those carbs for blood sugar spikes. Simple carbs are not good for us. Pat in Maine.

I'm sorry you're dealing with health issues in the people you love - that's so hard.

How do you make your cabbage roll casserole? It suddenly sounded really good to me!

As for TV, we pretty much just watch movies and a few HBO or other movie channel series we like (Game of Thrones, Madmen, Defiance)...until football season starts. :)

I'm also working on getting my nutrients up...and calories down. If what you're doing is working, please pass along tips - always welcome.

Hope you have a good day tomorrow, Lila.

Sometimes you just have to veg out - sit and watch a test pattern (which are hard to find now) or go along with whatever you find to watch. The commercials can be very entertaining, depending on your frame of mind.
