To Monitor or Not To Monitor

Friday, July 19, 2013

Since I don't own a treadmill, belong to a gym, or any of the other convenient(?) methods of exercising, I didn't truly understand the scope of today's challenge ... forget the monitors and listen to your body ... until I "remembered" that I do have a little step tracker that attaches to my waistband every morning. That little critter has taught me a lot about my activity level ... it was pretty much zilch when I started SP. It's also NOT my favorite mechanism because it is brutally honest with me. I've been using it for several months and am still working my way toward that 10,000 steps-per-day goal. Somehow my feet simply stop moving! At least that's what it feels like. But I will not stop until I get to that level AND beyond. It won't matter if I wear it today anyway, so I will. Just to keep my feet moving in the right direction.

Pedometers are great, but because it seems as though I have to drive everywhere in the Rogue Valley I don't get as many steps in as I'd like. Good luck bumping up your numbers!
