Excuses - Assignment 6 5% Challenge

Friday, July 19, 2013

Essentially I have to get my head around this truth. I go along well for some time and then I just lose momentum. I don't even bother to make excuses for not eating properly or exercising regularly. Lack of time, the state of the weather, illness - none of these apply to me most of the time.

To overcome this lassitude and to carry me through the 8 weeks of the challenge, and hopefully beyond I will

Faithfully record my exercise minutes and enter them for my team.
Put a portable DVD player and some discs in an unavoidable place where it is possible and convenient to play the discs and perform the required movements.
Clear the things dumped on the treadmill away so that I can get at it.
Continue my hour or so of heavy gardening tasks every afternoon that's fine.
Have a daily look at the above truth and my page background illustration.

Basically, for me, it's all a case of making it

For me, knowing that I can't track any fitness minutes for the day if I don't do anything is a big motivator for me to at least try on my bad days; I like to see that number going up!

What I LOVE about this blog is what you wrote that NO excuses are really good enough. It is almost like "fill in the blank." I tell myself that unless I am truly physically ill (e.g., the flu; multiple sclerosis exacerbation), no excuse means anything worthwhile.

I want to thank you SO much for writing this - made my day!!! Next time I have a "fill in the blank" excuse, I will think of this and get moving!! emoticon emoticon emoticon
