Almond Milk....

This is just kind of a "Did You Know"..."cause I didn't until recently" blog entry.

1 cup of Unsweetened Almond Milk has 45% of our daily calcium requirement and only has 30 calories. By itself it's not something I would recommend drinking as a milk replacement LOL. But...if you can include it in other things it does it's job without noticing it.

I've been using it in my Whey Protein Isolate milkshakes:
1 scoop powder
1/2 c. water (calls for one cup water but I add)
1/2 c. unsweetened almond milk
Note: 1 tbl of peanut butter makes a great addition if you're in need of some extra fat
10 ice cubes
mix all with Magic Bullet.

Anywho....calcium keeps our bones strong and calcium pills don't get processed by the body too well.

Had another great day...3 days in a row now have done 30 mins on the elliptical and ate/logged legal. Gaining back 45 lbs I view as a good thing...remembering how good it felt to be "lighter" and fitter is a great motivation.
