Still trying, but maybe a little different this go around

I got derailed with New Years earlier this year and have been struggling to get back on track. I have done it several times this year, for about 2 weeks at a time, before I derail again. While on vacation earlier this month, I read an article about a 2 day diet. This week I decided to give it a try, hoping it might work better for me.

The premise is that 2 days a week, you eat a high protein, low calorie diet and the rest of the week, eat normal. "Normal" means like a normal person who does not need to lose weight, it doesn't mean you can eat whatever you want. I am just completing my 2nd day of the high protein, low calorie plan. It is hard on those days, but the other days are easier for me in that I don't have to be so restrictive. I am still logging my food to keep me honest and try to eliminate binges.

I think I am just sick of dieting all the time. I need to feel normal some days and not be so restrictive every day. Maybe after I have gotten back on track, I can forgo this extra step, but right now i am hoping it is just what I need to get back on track permanently.

    Let me know how it goes for you....I am just trying to get back to tracking everything again. I mean I WAS doing exercise everyday but didn't want to track it - now that's just plain sad!! So let's begin again and create the person we know we are!!

    Sorry you've had such a hard time! Eating healthy is hard! If it wasn't everyone would be skinny, right? You can do it though! Just take one day at a time. Ask for help when you need it, and never ever give up!

    Dieting has never been easy for me, I like food too much! But keep with this, and let us know how it works for you! So much of this is mental attitude....and of course, friends to cheer you along! Wishing you a great week! emoticon

    I hope this works for you! Mostly I have given up on dieting too -- I just find low-fat/calorie alternatives to my favorite foods. Last night we had spaghetti and meatballs, but my meatballs were Morningstar Farms meatless meatballs, and I loaded up the sauce with shredded zucchini, onions, peppers, and mushrooms. With all that fiber I was satisfied with 1 cup of wheat pasta instead of the gigantic portion of pasta I normally prefer. A lite hot dog bun, split, sprayed with Pam & garlic powder and toasted, and I had an Italian feast!

I know you will find what works for you -- just NEVER GIVE UP!!!
