Fresnel lens cooker

Thursday, July 18, 2013

Took my Fresnel lens cooker outside today to try it out. I had tried it when I first built it. It was cold out and took about 3 minutes to set a box on fire. Today it was within 30 seconds. Was really amazed at how well it worked, so if tomorrow is another hot sunny day I will attempt to cook my first meal with it. I'll let you know how it turns out.

sort of. I used the lens from a big screen TV and built a frame to hold it. Works like a giant magnifying glass. Hit a cast iron pan with it then cook. wear goggles when using, light from it very bright
