It's seems that the greatest gains can be made by middle of the pack to back of the pack runners - 8 minute miles and back, than for elites (this makes sense since their fitness levels are so different!)

    Thanks for the link up to the article....I'm trying to get back into running, not that I was in it much before, but I did enjoy it...the site had a lot of great info.....
