OBEDIENCE IN WORK

So many times when we do a good job, we expect rewards or recognition. However, doing our job is not about getting more. It is about doing the job we are expected to do. There are expectations in every job and God has expectations for us as we work for Him. We can’t let things distract us regarding who has more than we do and what they do or don’t do versus what we do. Comparing ourselves to others on the earth will only distract. We should be grateful for the job God gives and the work we can do for Him, every day.

Luke 17:10 “In the same way, when you obey me you should say, ‘We are unworthy servants who have simply done our duty.”

Dear Lord, we are unworthy. We are Your servants. We do need to do our duty and expect nothing in return. We should remember we are here only to seek Your will and obey You. Show us today, Lord, what You want us to do and remind us to submit ourselves to You as we do our work so we can follow Your direction and not our own. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

God has work for us to do today. What is He calling you to do?

Working for God is not about selfish gain but about giving up ourselves to serve Him and others.

Any work we do we should do cheerfully for God.

Ephesians 6:7 “Work with enthusiasm, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people.” (NLT)

Our willingness to work for God and not man is what will lead us to success.

Colossians 3:23 “Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people.” (NLT)
