My dear neighbor's wife died today. My DH got a call asking if he would be a pall bearer. Of course he agreed. The funeral is tomorrow and he rushed around and got a hair cut while I ironed his slacks.
I was back at Vacation Bible School. The kids want it to last all year which is a good sign they are having a swell time. I couldn't last much longer. But I did tell them we will be there on Sundays and Wednesdays. And they are rather impressed that we invited them to join our boys in practicing on Wednesdays. Unfortunately they each want a solo part. Pray God sends someone who knows more about music that I do. I just keep downloading popular Christian accompaniment. And trying to divide a song so that each gets a moment to shine.
Also the young adult teacher is having surgery and I told him I would teach his class Sunday. I will not chicken out and I will try it for one Sunday. If I keep saying this mantra I may just go through with it.
Number 38 and 39 of the 71 "trust" Psalms...
Psalm 52:7-8 Lo, this is the man that made not God his strength; but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and strengthened himself in his wickedness. But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God: I trust in the mercy of God for ever and ever.
God bless us to flourish like the olive tree in Your house as we trust in Your unfailing love.
