Sparkstreak Day 1, Take 3

Yesterday started out pretty well. However, in the morning my daughter and grandson came over and we took care of Adam (4 years old) for a few hours. We had made dandelion cookies a month or so ago, and this time he wanted to make a cake with some wild berries. We have salal berries ripe right now, so we went out and picked enough to make a small spice cake with berries in it. He had fun putting in the ingredients, and it was fun to do with him.

I had to go to work so Adam stayed with Grandpa, and when I came home Adam and his mom had gone and left behind three small chocolate tarts - left from her pie business presentation to real estate brokers. Adam, according to our agreement, did make sure to take home some of the cake so he could share his labors with his parents.

After that, my husband went off to pick up some family members from the airport and take them back to their homes. There I was with two desserts in the house . . .
and one of the tarts made its way into my mouth, as well as a chunk of cake.

That is not as bad as it could have been, so I have to take comfort from that. I did go over my calorie limit, and didn't do exercise beyond berry picking.

Today is back on track, exercise and nutrition are tracked. I am doing better, I know it. I can recover my stride.

    What fun to spend time with Adam ! That's wonderful that you were able to pick berries & make a special cake together . I'm proud of you for not going overboard on eating the deserts ! There's nothing wrong with having small portions. You shouldn't feel bad about that at all. You were in control . Yay for you !! If you are moving , you are exercising , so feel good about that ! Good job for tracking too, even if your calories go over, you will still eat less if you know you are tracking . Keep up the great strides. You will get there ! emoticon
