I haven't been to the wildlife sanctuary in almost a week and it's starting to get to me. It's horrible when you walk outside and it feels like you walk into a wall, the air is so heavy. I had the day off and was planning on heading over there to listen to the program on the porcupine, but just couldn't bring myself to go since the heat index was already in the 90's. Friday is looking like the next chance I'll get. Too bad breathing is so important.

Anyway I decided to check out some of the videos here on SparkPeople. Coach Nicole's butt blasting workout was pretty good. For only 6 minutes it gives you a burn. There's a beginning pilates that was ok, but I may have been spoiled by Leslie Sansone. I like her pilates workout better. I'm so used to her videos and way of doing things I've found it hard to find other videos that I can easily follow or like. Case in point, there's a Bollywood type cardio dance video that I tried and I was so lost. There are comments saying it's boring, but I didn't think so. It reminded me of belly dancing, which I think would be fun. Anyway I hope to get the hang of it to add variety to my exercise.

I finally got the hang of the cauliflower pizza crust! The parchment paper seemed to do the trick. My husband even loves it. I also saw a sandwich using a large cucumber as the "bread.". That seems interesting to me and may have to try that soon. I am working hard on getting better with my fear of food.

Sounds strange to be overweight and afraid of food, I know, but it's true. I always want to see low calorie counts on my tracker so I have a banana and yogurt for breakfast and a very simple salad for lunch. Then I would have an apple and pear for snacks and end up dealing with low blood sugar. This week I'm working on eating more substantial lunches. Still healthy, chicken salad with celery, grapes, baked chicken, and light mayo. Seems to be helping so I've been able to do more strenuous exercise.

I'm also cutting out diet pop since it is pure poison. I've known this for awhile, but it wasn't as scary as sugar. Well, I don't need either. Water with lemon is very refreshing and does more for hydration. Working on everything that goes into my body being "real" food.

I guess the light bulb is finally coming on.

It's always a good idea to eat enough calories. n the long run, you will actually lose more weight. Your body doesn't like being deprived and will go into starvation mode to hold on to what it is getting. I like to put menus together and see all the numbers come out right. I not only figure out calories, but all the nutrients too.

Good job using a contingency plan to escape the heat. Glad to hear you're trying some new videos and trying to break out of your shell when it comes to new foods. You never know if you don't try!
