I have a confession to make. I am a pizza holic. I love pizza. Don't much care what you put on it, and the thicker the crust the better.
I got up late this morning so I forgot to take the planned dinner out of the freezer. Thus at 5:30 when I finished my classes and headed to the kitchen to make dinner I realized my blunder. I love to cook but my family eats on the 30 minutes to prepare our less rule. (My kitchen is claustrophobic small, so that's all the time I can handle in there, and I refuse to eat nuked meat. So I find myself running for the kindle to check my sparkpeople app to see how many calories I have left. Hubby wants pizza. So I start frantically figuring out which local joints pizza I can have and stay in my ranges. Answer: two pieces of little Caesar cheese and a protein shake, and I'm close. Still within my range but still 4 g short on the protein.
My goal tonight. Eat only two pieces. Usually, being a teacher, I polish of my meal before my husband has even finished 6 bites. Tonight I had not even finished one piece by the time he got through 2. Partially because I'm typing this on the kindle which requires my undivided attention, and partially because my goal for this week is to eat slowly and enjoy the taste and texture of my food. The pizza just doesn't have the same appeal that it used to. I still love my homemade pizza with the sparkpeople quinoa dough. Little Caesar though... blah. Oh yeah and I'm starting at piece two thinking do I REALLY need to finish this and do I REALLY want to?
The first 3 bites were all the bliss I remember. The rest pales in comparison to last night's grilled zucchini and mushrooms.
Not finishing the pizza. Salad sounds great instead! Gotta go pick some rabbit food from the garden.
Thanks for reading. Spark on!
PS- New pic with my spiffy new spark shirt coming soon.
