Day One

New here but not really... I remember making a SparkPage back in 2003 or 2004. I lost 90lbs that year by exercise and paying attention to what I put in my mouth. I didn't gain it all back until after graduate school about 6 years later. I gained even more in the last year and a half following an illness and a separate injury. I'm ready to get more focused about improving my health.

Changes may come about slowly, however, as I'm pretty dependent on someone else due to this illness. I live with my significant other and I just found out he's bringing home take out for dinner. Initially, we discussed Tony Roma's but I looked up the nutritional information and there's ZERO chance I'm putting that in my body tonight. We settled on The Cheesecake Factory because we usually split a meal there... the chicken di pana.

We haven't had a chance to discuss that I'm setting my boundaries with healthy eating but I let him know that he needs to set aside a few hours tonight for this discussion. We have fought about this for two years; even before I got unexpectedly sick. He has improved his health quite a bit since I moved in but he has miles to go before I'm comfortable with him as a support for me in my journey.

I know I can't change him but tonight, he will know for sure, that I'm not his partner in food crime any longer... I'm taking my life back today.
