I miss running.

I've been taking a break from running for two reasons. The first was to give my IT band a rest and the second was for my tattoo to heal. I've decided that my break will be over soon. I have been really tired lately and I think it's because I'm not working out like I used to. I've reduced my calories to make up for not working out, but I miss running.

I have been walking every night for 30 to 40 minutes on average so it's not like I've done nothing. I did an upper body workout yesterday and some ab work, but I still miss running.

It's been really hot here so it is difficult to find a "cooler" time to try and run. I've spent much of this week taking the kids to dentist appointments, doctor appointments, physical therapy, ortho doctor appointments, etc., but I still miss running.

I sure hope that I can run again, because I miss running!

    Hope you're back to what you enjoy soon. Take care of your body and let your tattoo area heal up. It's awfully hot outside (I just got done running and ended up walking the last mile - way too icky out!) so walking and the other workouts are better than nothing.

    I know you can do it. Stay focused and very positive. "Good things come to those who wait" That saying is so true. Be patient, and it will all work out. You will be back running before you know it emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

    You're doing fine AND the smart thing concerning your ink! Aftercare determines quality, longevity, and functionality of the skin in the long run. One of my best friends is a world known tattooist. He's done most of my ink. I remember talking to him about swimming, running, and working out. He told me some of the ink will actually leave the skin in the first few hours. Your skin will stretch in activity, and reminded me that it is essentially a wound. A few days off and our body embraces the healing process, insuring beautiful art in the years to come!
