We've all heard the term yo-yo dieting and know what it means, but I seem to be a serial yo-yo Sparkie! I come on, I go off, I'm back on again. It shocks and saddens me that my last post on here, the one where I was so gung ho about my weight loss was OVER A YEAR AGO! SO committed I was then, huh?!?!
So what's changed? Nothing really.
But that's not true. My mind set has changed. I don't want to get skinny - I want to get healthy. So I'm not dieting (it never worked in the past anyway) I am eating a healthy diet (and I use that word in its proper sense). The diet (or set of foods if you don't like that word) that we all should eat. Natural foods. A fitness instructor once told me that if it didn't come out of the ground looking like that or it doesn't have a mother - DON'T EAT IT!
SO whilst I may have the odd treat (no point in depriving myself) the majority of foods that pass my lips will be mother nature's own medicine. Foods that cure - can cure me of my illnesses (high blood pressure, obesity etc). - not kill.
SO I promise to you, but most importantly myself, that this time I will do it. I have already lost 16lbs this month and there's many more to go. I welcome you on my journey and I look forward to sharing yours.
