Feeling hot. Literally.

So it is exactly one month to go. The wedding where I have to show up looking impossibly fabulous.
And the universe is conspiring against me a bit this week.
I’m working for a new client, so I am away from home Monday through Friday. This wouldn’t typically be a problem; I am a dab hand at packing food, and finding my nearest grocery store, and my hotel has a gym. But I’m in Philly. For those of you not experiencing this north east heat dome, that means it is hot. Ridonk hot. High nineties, feels like 105+ - high 30s for the metrics -, heat advisory, sweat dripping down your back the second you walk outside hot.
Why is that an issue, you ask? Well, firstly, it means that the little walking required to get from hotel to train, and train to office, and back again, is really draining. But most importantly, there is a compound issue of heat wave and hotel. Because the hotel gym has BASICALLY NO AC. It’s like Satan’s armpit in there.
I had a run planned. I had a 5 mile run planned. After 10 measly minutes I had sweat flying off my elbows and my tank was nearly soaked through. Even drinking more water and slowing my pace wasn’t enough. So I gave up.
So my plan tonight is to crank up the AC in my room (which thankfully does work) and do some sort of weird in room workout. It needs to include some cardio and some bodyweight resistance training, and ideally not too much carpet touching (because hotels are pretty gross). I’ll do some googling later; I’m sure there are plenty of Insanity / Daily HIIT type workouts I can stream through my laptop. But if anyone has any suggestions, or links to good workouts online, I am all ears.
Because, OMFG , I am not going to that sweatbox again.
