There's Always Tomorrow

Wednesday, July 17, 2013

I didn't make the best choices yesterday. In the middle of the day at work, I was craving Starburst. They are my favorite candy, but I eat them very, very infrequently. I can get some at a 7-11, but it was too hot to walk there. There's a Whole Foods that's closer, so I went there and got a similar gummy candy.

This is bad for two reasons. 1 -- My diet does not need any gummy candies in it! 2 -- Since my vacation last month was expensive, I'm trying a "no spend" month. I can buy groceries, but trying not to buy anything else. I spent $6 at Whole Foods on sugar. I got the gummies and a drink. Ugh.

My second bad decision involved happy hour. The happy hour location is on my way home from work, and it was part of a fundraiser for my friend's non-profit. I figured "no spend" could absorb a $4 glass of wine. But then I also ordered a $3 plate of FRENCH FRIES. Does my diet need a plate of French fries? Did my budget need to spend an additional $11 after tax and tip? I don't think so.

I was complaining to my boyfriend and he simply said, "There's always tomorrow."
I do love this man. emoticon
Today I will make much better choices, I promise!
