OK, I give up - but I'm not going all this rain ruin my exercise routine.

Wednesday, July 17, 2013

Let's just say I gave in, but did't give up.

With the rain here in Korea entering it's sixth straight day, I was having a real bad case of a 'bicycle jones' (you have to be pretty old to remember where that came from :-). I needed to ride!

But the weather wasn't cooperating, and with only road bikes in the house, I finally gave in and put Specialized on the indoor trainer. All this rain is starting to make a good case for getting another MTB with fat, nobby tires - but I think my wife would go crazy with 3 bikes in the apartment:-). (What, give up one of my road bikes? NEVER!)

Anyway, I put in 30 minutes tonight, with my Specialized mounted on the trainer . That, along with 25 minutes of walking that I did during lunch today, still gave me 55 good workout minutes today.

But I sure would rather be riding outside. Looking at the forecast, I remain hopeful for either a Friday morning or early Saturday ride.

Summertime version of "cabin fever"! I know how frustrating that can be, but glad you came up with a creative solution.

We've had such hot weather that walking outdoors is out of the question. I've been using the treadmill, but I'd much rather be outdoors.

That's exactly how I feel about my treadmill - I would so rather be outside. Good for you for finding a work-around!!
