... but try carrying it in hand weight form!!!
So after weighing in and seeing that I'm down 8+ pounds, I decided I'd put it in perspective. You know, because eight pounds isn't all that much when you have over a hundred pounds to lose, right? Just a mere drop in the bucket, right? I thought "Hey, at least I can feel the heft and it will cheer me up and I can think it will be better than nothing."
I had my magical shop apron of invincibility on, and it had a pocket, so I decided to see how it would feel to haul around those eight pounds I lost. I honestly didn't think it would make a difference. I slipped into my apron pocket to see what would happen.
My people, 8 pounds is EFFING HEAVY.
Woof!!! What a load to haul around! I mean, seriously. That slowed me down. "Just" eight pounds was enough to hinder me. Then I thought "good lord, what am I going to feel like when I've lost more??? What must this excess weight be doing to my joints???" 'Twas sobering, I can tell you. It was also very motivating.
Pretty soon I'll be able to carry my sixteen pound cat around in my apron and see what that is like (it'll probably involve a trip to the ER, a blood transfusion, and a couple dozen stitches).
