A response from my mind to my body

Tuesday, July 16, 2013

Hey, body, I heard you but you know there are times you are a bit of a whiner. It is too hard, too late, too early, too cold, too hot, too much effort, or whatever. I agree to follow your rules as long as you follow them yourself. You need to take responsibility for your own actions. You need to stop with the whining and complaining.

You need to show up and do your job. You need to eat right, exercise daily, and stop looking for someone else to blame.

Now, having said that, BODY, get this job done and don't forget that this is a LIFETIME change of behavior and a commitment for the rest of our life. So get ready to make sure YOU can make it through these challenges that will surely pop up and face us as we move forward. We are in this together and we might as well learn to get along.

With humble and gentle kindness,
Your co- n - spiritor in chief - OUR mind

Have a blessed day everyone.

So funny. I have those days too when I am arguing in my head. It is always so much nicer when there is peace between the body and mind.

You made me laugh! I find myself talking to my head. Works in a lot of situations, except social ones. Then I picture a child throwing a tantrum or sticking its fingers in its ears so it won't hear trying to get it to make a better choice. Teaching kids to do the smart and safe thing is always a work in progress. I guess so it is with your mind and body! emoticon emoticon

It's really a shame when our mind and body have an argument, and wont talk to each other...at least yours are 'trying' to communicate. Hope the line of communication stays open! emoticon

Nancy, I know quite honestly despite our wanting to get healthy and get the show going there will be very challenging stressful days where it will be very difficult not to do some emotional eating as that's been a lifetime habit for me. I also sometimes eat just because I'm bored and the food tastes so good. It wouldn't be so bad if I craved and ate healthy things but I usually want the fattening carb & sugar filled food and that's what damages my body and mind and makes me so mad at myself. I'm going to make sure I have lots of healthy things to snack on and eat when I simply can't stop myself. My fridge will be full of fruit, raw veggies, nuts, yogurt, string cheese, etc. so at least I'll be eating healthy food. . .the cravings have almost stopped for me as I don't usually buy any junk food except maybe ice cream as Brent loves it. I'm still very much a work in Progress. . .Thank you Nancy. I hope you're doing well and Ed also. I hope you've had a good day. I feel like I slept most of the day away and literally slept all afternoon, a little over 4 hours which I rarely do. Sleep well tonight with beautiful dreams. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
