Okay, so when I started body pump, it hurt like heck using the 2.5 weight...yea, I know..I suck, I've only went up to five..anyways....I was always worried about my knee and I try not to aggravate it too much since the surgery...once I found out it was my shoes causing all my knee issues in my cardio classes, I cut out combat, switched to running, and now have limited pain...yay!
But back to the lunges...lunges have always hurt me....but I figured out the key to them...you have to do them right..I know, imagine that....basically, I wasn't putting enough distance between my feet, so my front knee would go over my toes...that and I was bending with my front knee instead of letting my back knee lead....it's completely amazing...I did them right last night and tonight and body pump...and now I'm in such (good) pain! My knees don't hurt but my muscles do........and you know what that means....I have to have muscles if they hurt!
Thank you lunges! Each time I wince in pain from any movement in my lower body..I simply remember I have muscles!
