A big part of running long runs is the fueling.
I use lots of gels that I buy... But I would really like to decrease the amount of chemicals I put in my body. I saw this recipe for a gel alternative for long runs.
I did change some things... I didn't use the brown rice syrup, but replaced it with honey. I also changed the fruit. I used a lime & cherries. The result is YUMMY!!! (and pretty)
I think I'll carry it on my long run in one of my extra water bottles (the small 6oz side ones) that have a spout. We'll see how it works.
