Running and Gratitude

Tuesday, July 16, 2013

Great run this morning thanks to 70 degree weather! Today was the "long" run, I did 2 miles and feel terrific. I can't imagine how there was ever a world where I didn't like running.

I'm still working on my Pilates roll up. I'm not sure what the best way is to make progress on that. I don't feel like I'm improving, but regardless I will keep at it every day.

So for day 2 of the happiness experiment/gratitude journaling:
1. Grateful for cooler than normal weather! Makes my runs and workouts so much more enjoyable.
2. Grateful for my Keurig. I love coffee so very much, and this thing makes wonderful coffee!
3. Grateful for my job. I love my job and I love being able to do it from home.

Positive experience over last 24 hours:
I went out to the backyard with the kids and jumped on the trampoline with them. The old me wouldn't do that because I didn't like climbing on or getting off of the trampoline. I didn't have the strength or stability to do it easily and I was afraid of hurting myself. The old me was also way too lazy to do that. The new me had no trouble getting up there, and I had a ball laughing with my kids who were thrilled that I was jumping with them even though my almost 13-year old daughter claimed to be embarrassed.

Exercise done (walking and trampoline time!)

Meditation done! RAK done!

Awesome idea of gratitude journaling! It's always good to find the positives from each day, no matter how big or small.

Jumping on the trampoline is fun. Makes you feel like a kid again. It has to feel good to be able to get on and off of it and have some play time with your kids!

I love the idea of documenting things you are grateful for and positive experiences you have. A positive outlook on things will DEFINITELY go a long way in helping you reach your goals. emoticon
