Long time no post, again.
Well I mentioned at some point that I was heading to the Naturopath, right? Well... I've been diagnosed with Hashimoto's Thyroiditis, an autoimmune thyroid disease, as well as Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome.
I'm still waiting on a treatment protocol for both things, because we're waiting on some last blood results on the Hashimoto's to find out my food allergen blood testing, to identify triggers. It is very likely I may be going gluten free from what I understand reading around online about the stuff.
My TSH level was in the normal range at the time of that initial blood draw, but my antibodies were very high - normal range is up to 60, mine were 1260. Those are antibodies that are attacking my thyroid!
As for the PCOS, further blood tests show that while I have some of the symptoms that put me under the blanket of PCOS, I don't have some of the issues that come with the worst cases. My insulin is fine, my sex hormone binding globulin or whatever it is is ok, my cholesterol results all came back very good... what I'm dealing with are - irregular cycles and high testosterone.
I actually have Dr's appointment today - I was supposed to be getting Maya Abdominal Therapy, but it looks like my cycle will be on time this time around so they don't do that when you're on it - but they wanted me to still come in and get some treatment protocol for the PCOS.
My doctor told me that the results for the food allergen testing should be in by the end of this week - I'm very anxious for that because the Hashimoto's is what I'm most interested at this point in a treatment protocol for. I've already been taking an herbal supplement that is supposed to help regulate my cycle, and my last cycle was 28 days exactly, and this one appears to be almost exactly the same as well, I'm wondering if the things I've been doing are helping? We'll see what other things are suggested.
P.S. - as for my heel, it's still a problem, but I'm still going to PT and I found a place to do aquajogging and bought myself a belt for $10 at a cheapie store in the area! I was shocked to see them there, but it works like a charm! :D YAY! I got an XRay to see if there was evidence of a fracture (because it had been long enough since the onset of pain that it should show some healing at least, and I wanted to make sure I wasn't chasing the wrong treatment path) and there was no evidence, but that darn heel spur.
