Yesterday was a pretty successful day with regards to sticking to my blueprint for my lifestyle change.
Ate all my meals at the table, well besides when at work...glad I go into the office only 2 days a week. But dinner was definitely at the table..
Noticed - seems like the visual and concentration on the food makes a huge difference in NOT feeling deprived all the time....try it you might like it..turn off the TV and eat at your kitchen table - calmly, enjoying your food as it was intended to be enjoyed, not on the fly, or in a rush..trust me I'm so guilty of it.
K, on to the potato chips..
My husband was going to the store and asked if I wanted anything..my old self said "mmm to myself, a nice bag of lays would taste so great, I can eat them at the table if I want them bad enough"....
What I wanted was the salty, greasy taste of the chips, not because I was hungry, or I was feeling deprived because I was not..it was for the taste and the MINDLESS crunching it would allow me.
I thought I really don't need it and this temptation will pass...well I feel asleep and woke up on my recliner, feeling so over the chips and glad I decided against indulging just to indulge.
So paying attention to what is really going on makes a huge difference instead of just giving in, question it.
Trust me I love chips, and will have chips again with a meal or as a snack..just last night was not one of those nights.
Woke up today feeling great....
My habit is growing...I think next I'll buy some nice table mats for my new table!
