Well when I decide to really do something, I just jump right in. While I am already doing weekly mini-challenges, I have joined the Official 28-day Bootcamp Workout Challenge AND the 2013 Summer 5% Community Challenge. This may be one of those times that I have bitten off more than I can chew but I'm going to do my best and try to keep up.
For the mini-challenge this week, I picked 5 strength training exercises and I have to do 12 reps, twice for 4 days of the week. Admittedly I picked some that I have already found easy to do when I have a little time on my hands. In fact, I was doing my squats in the break room when a coworker came in and "caught" me. I smiled and kept going while she just shook her head and left the room. I did explain it to her later and had the opportunity to share info about sparkpeople and how much help it's been to me in my journey to a new healthier me.
The Bootcamp Challenge video was a little harder than I expected but I got all the way through it with only a few modifications. By the end of the challenge I hope to be about 5 pounds lighter and able to do the runner without falling down. For now, my knees aren't good enough and my stomach is really in the way. (And I'm almost horribly out of shape.)
The Summer 5% Challenge intrigues me. I can't wait until it actually starts in a few weeks. In the meantime, one of the assignments was to list my goals and plans for the challenge so here goes....
It is my goal to lose 5% or more of my body weight during the 8 weeks of the challenge by eating healthier (Adding more freggies) and tracking all food eaten, by exercising for 30 minutes each day by either walking or doing a spark video and by supporting my team mates by cheering them on and accepting their advice and support. GO TEAM!!!
