I had reservation up north by Fort Collins for camping this weekend.
Who knew it was in a canyon and said canyon frequently floods and had mudslides...
Alas after 1.5 hours in the car were were turned around to head on back home. We did have the option of driving an additional 1.5 hours to go in the back way to the canyon around the mudslide, since our camp ground was right on the otehr side of the mudslide. Hmmm... with no guarantee that the campground was ok, and camping would still be an option...
So i pouted all the way, fought with the hubby, and eventually got back home, still raining, we unpacked the essentials, popped open some wine and de-stressed...
That night a friend that had intended to meet us camping that luckily had not left work/home yet, planned a hike for us with another gal pal. Yeah!
Almost 7 miles, at berthod pass, starting at 11 thousand feet, ending around 12500 thousand feet! Felt like we were in the clouds! It was amazingly gorgeous, i sweated my bootie off and enjoyed my day!
