Got up had breakfast, walked the dog. That is my normal morning routine. The rest of today was not normal. I borrowed my dad's truck and drove with a friend to the mall to do some shopping. I love the fact that I can shop for clothes in almost any store I want now. We went to Old Navy, and I tried on a pair of size 8 skinny jeans... and they fit just fine! I also got some shirts and a pair of workout pants. We also went to JC Penny's to bra shop. Now I hate shopping for bras, but all I had were sports bras, so I needed one or two that weren't sports bras that fit me. I had to try on 3 sizes before I found the right size. I even found ones without underwire. I hate underwire bras. Then we stopped the bookstore, where I only bought 4 books. That is a real chore for me, as I really love books. I love how they smell and feel, and I love reading them. As our last stop of the day we went to the Olive Garden for lunch where we both got soup salad and breadsticks. I had two bowls of soup, but kept my other portions in control. It did jack my sodium up for the day, but it tasted good!
It was hot today, so I waited a while after getting home to go for my run. In fact it was after 8pm before I got out the door. I am glad I waited, as the temperature had dropped significantly. My run felt easier today. I did 2.4 miles in 21 minutes. Since it felt easier I think it is time to increase my distance again. I think I will add another .3 of a mile this week, and go to the 3.2 mile loop next week. My next 5k is in the middle of August, so I should be ready by then to run the whole thing without taking any walking breaks.
My mom is resting comfortably in the hospital. She will be there at least a week. And my neighbor is going in for surgery (gallbladder) tomorrow morning at 6am. Tomorrow I start the grand cleaning project at my parents' house, so I will probably be gone all morning. Means I will get my run in during the evening again. One of these days I need to take a rest day, and actually take a real rest day. I am on Day 664 of my fitness streak, so I want to continue that, but I can take a day where all I do is walk.
