unexpected workout

I had planned for this to be my rest day from working out, but I got cardio in. A exchange student and friend's daughter came over to kayak, I set the girls up and in the water and went back to the house. Not 10 mins into their ride did I look out the window and notice that one of them had flipped their kayak (my friend's daughter). so DH & I head down to the water and got out in the canoe to the girls. The water is not deep and she could stand, but it's slit so ugh... we got her and the kayak back to dry land, and they decided to take the canoe instead....after 15 mins I started to worry, drove down around the cove and didn't see them , so went home & jumped into a kayak in search of them, it's only 90 acres of water so they can't get lost. But I had visions of them flipped and their are only 12 houses on the lake. I paddle as fast as I could and caught a glimpse of them rounding into the last cove. Finding a shady area I waited for them, I think they were probably relieved to know they weren't alone on the paddle back. So the first 20 mins was a hard paddle going back was not such a cardio workout, but hey it all counts.

    Great upper body workout, rowing is! I cannot do it. I tried once. I am not a water person, actually I am petrified of the water. I'm sure your friends are glad they have you!! Hope all that rowing didn't reinjure your healing back.

    Wow, very interesting story. I love being on the water. My DH and I will paddle for hours on the sound. So happy the girls were fine.
