Setting the Record Straight...

Monday, July 15, 2013

I know that humor is lost when you don't know someone's personality, and in written verse it gets very hard.

I do want to set the record straight that as much as I gripe about my parents, they are my best friends. They have only been gone a month after moving back home with me. So that month was supposed to be when I let off the brakes and PAR-TAYED.

But alas, I party no longer. Damn, I am old.

But I am happy to have them home, I just love picking on them. I know my mother logs on and looks at my blogs sometimes, so some of this is just to get her hackles raised. It's my FAVORITE job... picking on my folks, that is.

So just so that everyone knows what a wonderful little daughter I am, here's the truth of my parents.
- They laugh when everyone else looks confused.
- I DO get all my bad genes from them, but I also got some pretty killer ones too. Like being smart and tearing things apart before I tell anyone I did it and it's now broken. HA
- They are two of the nicest people you will every meet and they will make you feel welcome in their home, even when they are marching you out the door by your pants.
- They love me. And what is better than that? My mommy is the only reason I am still alive. I promised her I wouldn't leave her like that. So it's a promise I am keeping for now.

Anyway, we joke and we play and I pick on them and I get picked on 4 times as much as I pick on them. I love them with all my heart and the day anything happens to them, you can kiss my ass goodbye. I am going off the deep end, c-c-c-razy crying, and then I will leave everything to my brother and I am outta here.

So please don't apologize for my family coming home. Hell, I got to sleep until 11am today!

Peace, Love and Happy Trails,

Love this! My mom is my BFF too and my biggest cheerleader. I think it's great you have them in your life and they must be what you need to stay on track too. They are whom you hold yourself accountable to. Keep at it girl and thank them for that too. I'm certain they'd love to hear it.

How sweet. Be glad you still have them with you to joke with. My mother passed away on Earth Day 2007, and my father was never really around after they split up. I wish I had my mother to joke with once again. You are very lucky. xo emoticon Teri

emoticon emoticon That's wonderful you feel like that about your parents and have such a great relationship with them! I feel the same way about my Mom too. Except I know I would rather not live with her, weekend or four day visits are good enough :) Its tough getting old to be sure, but I still enjoy my privacy and getting to do what I want and when I want at all hours.

My parents are my best friends as well. I only live 2 miles away from them, I LOVE being right around the corner so I can still be all in their business 24 hours a day, haha! :)
