I am back from my trip to Okinawa! Wow! What a great time I had. There were alot of things that opened eyes. The most amazing thing is that I got to meet my 97 year old great uncle who was healthy as a horse. While sitting on the floor he lifted my 4 year old daughter who weighs almost 40 lbs up in the air 3 times in a row with no problem. I found out that he gardens everyday and eats 3 times a day at exact times. He does not eat anything outside of his meal times! He also sleeps on the tatami mats on the floor every night. He gets bored when he is visiting his family because he is used to gardening every day. Aside from not being able to hear very well, he is healthy as a horse! It was amazing to be able to meet him. It just validated the fact that if I am consistent in being active and eat healthy, I can live a long healthy life. Most people there eat a little meat with their meals. Most foods were delicious and flavored so nice. I definitely need to learn how to cook Okinawan food. I am now on the verge to live healthy and put all the other crap like fitting into a certain size and being stressed out about losing so much weight to the side. I know if I just simplify everything by eating well prepared meals and get active I will achieve my goals all around. I will definitely feel good about myself.
