Despite being very good this last week on the better sleep challenge and my sleep habits have definitely improved - I have been getting to bed by 9.30pm every night, still wake up during the night but not as much and my routine has improved at night though not always exactly the same. Still for the last little while I have had virtually no energy. I thought at first it was recovering from the flu but today I decided to test my blood pressure - I have always suffered from abnormally low blood pressure but at times it can be quite well controlled and I go quite a while without testing it. Today I tested and it was very low (and that was after going for a walk which should have raised it a bit). So anyway, now I know why I have been feeling so exhausted despite developing improved sleep habits and fortunately I can do something about it. I take a natural blood pressure medication to increase my blood pressure slightly that definitely helps so I started taking that again today (I usually only take it when my blood pressure is particularly bad - under 100 systolic). Unfortunately regular exercise and general good health habits do lower blood pressure so its kind of a catch-22 for those of us with already low blood pressure but I am not going to let that deter me from being good and doing my exercise, etc. Hopefully the medication will work quickly and I'll be back to normal soon.
