All this planning, seed purchasing in January, digging, seed starting indoors in March, weeding, etc. and all I have to eat at this time is kale, collards, and swiss chard which are spring crops. the beans and cucumbers failed, and the lettuce is starting to bolt so I have to pick and eat it every single day. The rest of the plants are not ready yet, and I'm broke.
My food stamps will be available on August 3rd. 18 days from now. I hate it when I don't budget right. Thank God for the garden. Here's what I have in the refrigerator:
Top Shelf: molasses, maple syrup, ground flaxseed, honey, 1/2 jar peanut butter, tuna, 4 avocados, Miso, almond slivers, Tahini, vanilla bean, 1/2 chocolate bar. 2nd shelf: Almond meal, Eziekel bread (13 slices), pickled herring, rennet, 9 eggs, 3 sticks organic butter. 3rd shelf: filo dough, 1 tortilla, 1 qt. O.J. Trader Joe's Ranch Parmesan dressing, Sriracha sauce, white quinoa, 1 lb. tofu, 27 oz. unrefined coconut oil, parmesan and Romano cheese. Crispers: rolled wet linen towels with kale and collards, 2 mangos, 2 lemons, 1 eggplant, 2 limes, 1 lb. carrots, 5 apples, garlic, ginger, 1 plum tomato.
Freezer: 3 lb. garden squash, assorted flours (store all my flours in freezer to keep them free from insects and going rancid), 1 lb. artificial crab meat, 1 lb. chicken sausage, 1 lb. hot sausage, 8 oz. salmon filet, frozen raw almonds, sesame seeds, pine nuts.
Here's what I have in the cupboard:
Cupboard: 1 lb. whole wheat gnocchi’s, 3/4 lb. noodles, 11 oz. coffee, 3 lb. old fashioned oats, box Cheerios, box chocolate brownie mix, chick peas, vinegars, spices. 4 mason jars of canned Stella Cherries with sugar & pits from the tree.
I've just used the last drop of milk - I think I'm addicted to dairy - ice cream, yogurt, cheese, etc. Let's face it the sugar and enzymes in these foods can also be addictive.
So here I go. All I have are these items, $2.74 left in food stamps, and ZERO money in the bank until August 3rd.
I cannot lose weight and all I do is freaking work work work in the heat, from early morning til late at night doing grueling, filthy dirty, hard laborious chores and I can't lose weight.
So lets see what happens in the next 54 meals and 18 days.
