Moving!

Monday, July 15, 2013

So we're moving. To the other side of the country. In about 5 weeks. I have 3 weeks temporary work lined up filling in for my friend at a vet clinic in Exmouth, Western Australia. My husband doesn't have work lined up but I think he'll have an easier time finding work once he's over there. I hope anyway!

Financially we're probably about 50% prepared for a move. Cleaning house wise we're about 10% ready. Plus we're breaking lease so I really really really hope they get new tenants asap so we don't have to pay extra rent while we aren't here. And since we're moving so far we've got quite a bit of stuff to sell. I also have to get licensed to practice in WA.

I'm stressed about all this, really stressed. Plus there's some marital stress. I won't get into that. As a positive I only have a few weeks of my current job left :-)

I'm eating too much, and a lot of it is unhealthy. I am still exercising a lot. I think I've gained weight. I haven't looked. Stress is part of the reason. I think part of it is that I've gotten sick of trying and not seeing weight loss progress. Not that I'm not seeing fitness progress. But with added life stress I've just put it on hold for a bit.

I also cancelled my race in Sept. It interferes with me taking this job and I could get $75 of the $95 I spent on the race back. I was also going to struggle to afford the plane tickets to get there. I'm sad but seeing as I've been taking a lot of time off running to fix my leg I think it is the best plan.

So a lot going on. I'll keep trying to make time for healthy options and get my massive 'to do' list done. I think once I get a bit more furniture sold and get started on cleaning and packing I'll feel better. I really hope I don't mind living with lots of stuff in storage for an indefinite period of time. I'm also hope we survive a 5-7 day drive across the country with two dogs, two cars and a trailer full of stuff. And possibly a cat, although we're thinking of flying him so he doesn't get too stressed.

Fingers crossed my husband gets a job soon so I can count on two incomes when we get there!

I am so out of the loop with my SP friends...You have so much going on and I know for a fact what you are going through and how that stress leads to the bad eating and the weight gain, was there about 2 years ago. You WILL get through it, at least you are still exercising and that is a big stress reliever, so that is a good thing!
Once you are there and more settled you can focus on your food intake again.
Good Luck with all of it, I feel your pain!
Hugs...
I wish you were moving to SA instead of Perth emoticon

I wish you were here in Cleveland so I could help you with the move, you could pay me in pizza and beer....but that would not help either of our eating habits!
Just recognize that with time to the changes will happen and you'll settle into your new life and get right back into your great habits. I think it was a wise idea to cancel the race so you can focus on the essential priorities. Good luck in this stressful time!

Hope everything goes well! I know moving can be tough. You have a lot prepared but there will always be more to do. Don't be too hard on yourself for eating more/not eating well. You'll get back on track. Smart to cancel the race.
Hope your husband finds a job there soon to alleviate some stress. All the best for your move!

Tried commenting earlier and it wouldn't upload! Oh well.

Second try...

Moving can be very stressful, I know, I've done it enough LOL! But congrats on it, I know it will all work out for the best! Don't worry too much about the eating - once you get settled in and aren't so stressed I am sure it will work itself out.

Good luck!
