TV TREASURES

At a sports memorabilia convention in 1984, a man purchased a 1951 Minneapolis Millers jersey (#28) for $50. He thought it was a fun relic of the long-defunct local minor-league baseball team. Then he found out who had worn it: Willie Mays. He could even verify it belonged to Mays because he found a picture of Mays wearing it. He took the item to Antiques Roadshow, where the jersey’s value was estimated at $80,000.
