Stop using "hope" in your goals!

One of the things that drives me a bit nutty and makes me shake my head...BUT I UNDERSTAND...is the phrase "I hope this works"...or "I hope I can do it this time"
I know my education and background isn't like the norm and the average overweight person that has tried a zillion "diets" have this feeling of..."Here we go again...maybe this one will work...I hope it does...", I get that...I do! But what I have learned and can share with you is that DIETS will ALWAYS fail you...YOU DON'T FAIL.
When someone deprives you of your favourite food or an entire macro-nutrient that provides energy (carbs) do you really think that you're gonna succeed and maintain it for life? That's just silly. And hard. And depressing. STOP IT! All it does is drive you to binge and then guilt and then "HOPE" that the next one will work.
Sparkpeople is NOT about dieting! It's about balance. It's about knowledge. It's about enjoying the process. It's about progress NOT perfection. It's about lifestyle and changing your auto-responses to food. It's about identifying WHY you eat because weight isn't about food...it's about head space and Food is just what you USE to not feel or to fill...etc. Once you use food as fuel and enjoy it...that is when real change will happen. There is SOOOOO much great information on this site and if you are honest with it and yourself, it will be honest with you...no need for "hope"...you will succeed! PERIOD. Track whatever passes your lips, move more than ya did yesterday and eat more out of the ground than other stuff :) It's about holding yourself accountable and learning to be the inner rock star that you are!
Now...STOP HOPING and START ROCK AND ROLLING!!!! YOU CAN DO IT!!!
