This summer so far my weight has been teetering in the wrong direction and it is making me just miserable so it is high time (just like the high humidity) that my weight loss equals my current marathon training success. This shouldn't have to be this hard. I need to get out of my head and get on with it.
July 15th begins my 7 double or nothing plan that will last until Labor Day (7 weeks...yes, I feel that 7 is my lucky number) and the goal is to lose at least 14 pounds (i.e. 7 double (14) or nothing which means if I do nothing different I will lose nothing~ha, ha!).
Time to load up on all that garden goodness that has survived the monsoon rains. I'm particularly excited about the tomatoes. Scrumptious :o) Someone my DH knows just gave him a bushel of sweet potatoes so I guess we'll be grilling them a lot over the next couple of months. I need to look up a smoothie recipe that I can use them in, too. I will be increasing my protein, cutting back on the carbs (semi-carb cycling) and veering away from most processed foods. Start eating yogurt daily again to get my gut back in check, have a dinner cutoff time as well as go to bed at least by midnight.
Work outs will consist of up to 3 days of running, 1 day on the stationary bike, 1 Tae Bo or kickboxing workout, 1 circuit training workout (alternate Biggest Loser, Supreme-90, Jackie Warner), and yoga which can be done on the same days as my short runs, even if I run in the morning and do yoga in the evening. This routine should be well rounded and keep me interested for 7 weeks. My primary focus right now is hitting my distance marks for the marathon in November, but I want to do other exercises I enjoy without burning out. I'll weigh in every 10 days.
This summer is hot enough as it is. Might as well try to make myself hot in the process, right??? And those summer clearance sales are coming up and would like to buy at least a size smaller. I have shorts in my drawer from last year I can't wear yet this year. Would love to be able to wear them for at least a month before the colder weather arrives. So these are my goals and this is how I plan to get there. I've planned the work. Now time to work the plan!
Are you staying on track this summer? Or do you need to reset like me? Join me, won't you?
