I wouldn't call it harmony, but maybe I have achieved a weird sort of balance this summer.
On the downside, work has been sooo stressful; it's just now starting to turn the corner and be productive.
I've been having awful pain in my neck and shoulder, and that has me running to a massage therapist instead of running 3x a week--bummer. I think it's getting better. Today's been a good day, at least.
On the other hand, I'm really focused on enjoying all of summer's pleasures. That alone has been quite restorative, whether it's laying in a hammock reading a book, or watching a concert and fireworks, or celebrating my birthday with lots of friends and family. And now that I have a charcoal grill for the first time in years, I'm experimenting with different meats and veggies. I love summertime!
As you may know, I've been on hiatus from all efforts to lose weight for the past few weeks, and am not tracking anything. Don't try this at home, but I pretty much eat whatever I want. That has included birthday cake, Nutella, and my friend's deluxe homemade ice cream sandwiches. And a beer now and then.
Nevertheless, I've actually lost .2 lbs. This really doesn't surprise me. I'm up at 6 every morning and constantly on the go. And I never eat much in the summer, anyway. Mostly I crave heirloom tomatoes and peaches!
So my summer break continues, but I am glad to see so many SP friends making real progress, incrementally or by leaps and bounds. I look forward to rejoining you in a few weeks.
