Salado 10K

Sunday, July 14, 2013

Salado is located along I-35 between Waco and Austin and is currently suffering through the road construction to make I-35 three lanes through town. Salado was originally a stage line relay stop.

The Village of Salado was founded by the early Scottish settlers because of its plentiful springs and rich farmland. It is currently a nice shopping area with cute shops. We enjoy Volksmarching there. We always see something new it seems, like this new park.

It had a nice path amongst the sculptures.

There were lots of artwork but I think this is my favorite.

We also visited the cemetery.

And the old college ruins.

I love reading your posts with the interesting journeys. I enjoy the history given, the pictures of scenery and beautiful points of interest.
As I can't do any travelling, keep them coming.
I enjoy them immensely.

I loved going to Salado. My wife's aunts lived there. When we would visit, my kids liked swimming in the creek by the Stage Coach Inn.
