Went to coffee morning in village hall yesterday won a prizes in raffle biscuits, mint jelly and cranberry sauce these 3 will do nicely as prizes in disabled club raffle next week.
It was quite hot but I decided to go to the fun day at Tottlebank Baptist Church which is over a mile away up hill so I donned my straw hat something I never wear outside the garden sun glasses sun screen and bottle ice cold water usually a walk to this venue would take me at least an hour I did it in less tan 35 mins.
Watched the buzzards flying above and grey squirrels in the wood then as I came up towards the field after the woods there was a couple of roe deer feeding in the shade of the trees.
I only had to stop a couple of times to catch my breath but my asthma didn't play up and it was the steepest route I took as it was the shortest and I did it
It is odd for me to go to a place I am not familiar or meet people I don't know but for some reason I wanted to do this. I did meet several very nice people and the pastor and his wife were very welcoming and chatted with me for a while as did many of the church p0eople there was a little girl with downs who took to me and she held my hand most of the day along with her rag doll named Dolly Her mother said she didn't usually take to people she didn't know even some of the woman in the church commented on this.
There was stalls and entertainment they were raising money for the food bank I bought plants and found a book I had been looking for ,years to sent to someone in prison
I even went into the school room full o9f people and had a cup of tea I resisted the delicious looking cakes they were tempting.
The pastors wife showed me the inside of the church which was built in 1669 it was so peaceful she even said if I ever wanted to visit for a service to ring and she would arrange transport for me.
I walked back stopping at a friends on the way down to buy some plants from her charity wall this was the first time I had been up that far in 5 yr Even when I got home I wasn't tired just bou8ncing that I had achieved all this on my own
I was going to visit the church service this morning but it was so hot and I didn't have any energy due to the heat but one of the ladies called after the service to say they had prayed for me and Ian and to give me her number as she has to pass the cottage every week to go to service.
Today I have spent most of the day on my bed it is so hot did get the laundry done and greenhouse watered but it is so hot outside and Ian is off work and his hands are in so much pain going to ring hospital tomorrow to see if I can get an earlier
appointment for him he cannot go till august like this if not thinking of taking him to A+e department instead even if they x-ray them it is a step forward and maybe they can get him to the consultant quicker as it is affecting his job as a coach driver.
7pm and its still hot going to get laundry in then having an early night
