Happy Sunday

Sunday, July 14, 2013

So yesterday I began coughing and sneezing....not sure if it's the cold that the kids had on vacation or allergies but something is up. The good news is that I really don't have to do anything today so I can take care of myself. I will walk the dogs....yes both dogs. My DH and I went out and got a muzzle for Morgan and she seems to be doing well with it. She can still drink water and such but it also keeps her from biting at her stitches and such so no more cone head. That makes me really happy as I was tired of the cone thing banging into my legs and bruising me.

But now I have a new challenge. My boy kitty, Lancelot has lost a lot of weight while we were gone. He used to be my "chunky" guy who always begged for food. Now he is not eating. So tomorrow I will take him to the vet. He is still purring when I pet him and will still sit on my lap but he is all skin and bones. My kitties are 13 years old and I am worried that it might be his kidneys. That seems to happen with kitties. I do pray it's something else and can be treated. I need to prepare myself for the worst though as I know he isn't well. The other kitty girl, Guinevere, will not leave me alone....she follows me everywhere wanting to be loved and petted. She even wakes me a couple of times per night wanting loving. I think she missed me as she had me around for so much while sick. Pets are funny. I think though that I won't replace pets at this stage of the game. For sure no more dogs.

It's overcast here in Ajijic today so lazy day today.
Hope all of you are doing great.
Have a terrific Sunday.

I hope your kitty is going to be okay. My guy is the same age as yours - 13 - and I worry about him a lot. And I hope your coughing and sneezing doesn't turn any worse - maybe allergies? Better than a summer cold for sure. Are your dogs doing better together? Hope so.

All the best for your kitties! They do miss their Momma when you are gone and it will take a few days for them to realize you are back for real.
Take care of yourself!

Happy Sunday to you! Have been happy being without pets for years now. Once I got so sick, I made up my mind that anything that comes into my home has to be able to not only feed itself, but also shop for what they eat.

My cats really miss me when I am gone and won't leave me alone. I love them dearly. I like dogs, particularly the big ones, but can't do without the cats. I told dh that I won't be without at least one!

His 14 yo male cat contracted Feline Infectious anemia and it was touch and go for a month. We lost 2 cats to that over the past 2 years. It is nasty, involved hospitalization and I gave him intensive care for a month using Ener-gel for extra calories for him, but we got him through it. Good luck. Keep us posted on kitty.

Hoping you have the best of Sunday, Sallie! All you can do is love your babies. We lost our two pups in 2004. In 2006, our Granddaughter was born. When she gets older, we'll start making trips to Doggie Rescue and see where fate will take us. All the best.
