What a Waste!

You know, it's occurred to me all the time, effort and money I've put into trying to get in shape and healthy in the past, without lasting success.

I was doing some cleaning today and had to put some things away in the closet. My closet contains book cases full of diet and fitness books and magazines. I have invested tons of money on these over the years, not to mention gym memberships, food, and supplements.

If I put the knowledge that I've learned through these resources to use, I would have been at my physical goal years ago!

But I can't think about all that's been wasted, all the time and energy. I have to look ahead, to the future, to when I will reach my goal by utilizing and putting into practice what I know I need to do to get where I want to be.

I have some really great resources and today, I got some of them out to form what will be my new nutrition and fitness regimen. I know if I stick with it and be consistent, I'll have success . . . wish me luck!

    You're not alone! I have several diet and exercise books, plus DVDs and haven't lost a pound.i don't know why it's so hard to put the knowledge that I've gained from these books into practice. Like you, I should already be at my goal weight. I read through them and made notes so I can refer beck to the notes. I'm restarting my journey today. Let's do this!

    I'm fond of telling my husband that SP is the ONLY thing that's ever worked for me all of these years.

    I'm almost convinced that there's a conspiracy going on to keep Americans down via the way of food - other countries have the problem too but nowhere NEAR the "size" (ha, ha) of ours. I don't know how we can expect to be healthier if we don't know all the facts - SP helps with that.

    I had tons of fitness related stuff too. Until I decided to stop stalling and start doing. Things are going great now. I have only lost 5 pounds so far, while "getting real with myself"

    But this is only the beginning of one of the best journey's of my life. No book or gadget is right for EVERYONE, find out what will work for you and run with it. Good Luck on your journey too!!

    I have tons of books, dvd's and gadgets also... I was always was looking for a "magic" cure. The cure is hard work, consistency and daily dedication. Weight loss isn't for wimps and it isn't easy.. if it was easy then no one would have a problem! Isn't it ironic that SparkPeople is free and those books and gadgets cost a fortune? SP is the ONE best tool I have to keep me on the road to health and fitness.

    I guess we can collect stuff about a hobby or anything else, and then not follow through.
