So there was a big todo at Sunrift today - and I had to cook it. Hot dogs, hamburgers, potato chips, baked beans, beer. Here is how I managed...
Tossed some teriyaki chicken with pineapple on the grill to the side (for hubby and self) while I served up the hotdogs and cheeseburgers to the other folks. Grilled three quarts of mixed veggies dredged in a little olive oil and seasoning, saved some for myself. Shared 1/2 cup of baked beans with my hubby. I did fail on the chips and eat several handfuls of chips and some roasted garlic hummus. Couldn't get in any exercise because I had to drive my mom to visit her sister in another town and got back just in time to prep for the party.
How did I do? 1728 calories for the day (228 over my max allowed for the day, 328 over my daily average.) Could I have avoided it? I could have skipped the chips. I could have eaten one thigh instead of two. Then I would have been well within my calorie range. Was it worth it? You bet. I've been feeling deprived for the last few days, and truly bored with my diet. I think I needed it. And, truth be told, it could have been much worse.
