Well this week was intense but really awesome.
My two highlights were starting a new class at school for the second part of the Summer session (which kind of sucks actually) and volunteering at Girls Rock! Camp!
For those that haven't heard of Girls Rock Camp before (there are various other local girls rock camps in select cities around the country and world, I help with the one in Rhode Island) it's a camp for girls (at the RI camp the age range is 11-17) where the girls complete a week-long camp program, in which they attend lessons in their instrument of choice (guitar, bass, drums, keyboards, or vocals), form their own bands, practice with their bands, and attend various workshops on topics such as songwriting, relational aggression, history of women in music, merchandise creation (they make band shirts and buttons), media, etc...it's a really great program and the transition from day one to day 5 at the showcase (at a local music venue where all the bands play in front of a huge supportive crowd), is huge! I did volunteered last year too and I love it. Everyone is so nice, friendly, supportive and appreciative. I don't have a lot of musical skills so I just kind of help with whatever other stuff needs to be done. At the showcase I got to sell merch which was really excited.
Since I was walking around a fairly large facility in which the camp took place at for the 3 days I wasn't in school and could volunteer and was waking up a lot earlier, I was really tired. And yesterday I had to help move a bunch of amps and drums and guitars and such, and my muscles are very sore today.
So I was so sore that I didn't really think I could work out as intensely as I wanted to today...I was gonna go on the treadmill for awhile today, but could only handle dancing to just dance for a little over an hour...I usually put the just dance dancing the same as the calories for disco dancing on the fitness tracker, but I'm not sure it's accurate. So I'm worried I may have not been able to get in enough exercise for the amount of food I was eating this week...but am hoping the extra moving around from doing stuff I didn't track will even it out.
