You Don't Have To Be a Songbird .......

Saturday, July 13, 2013

And you do not have to be a celebrity to sing .....

In one day I read three blogs by various people who said they had a
bad or terrible day or somewhere inbetween ........... One said she had
no motivation, no desire to do anything ....... not exercise, not eat right &
certainly NOT track what she had consumed that day! ......... It
was a plain and simple 'flat line' ............ Just muddle thru and wait for
tomorrow ......... Maybe the sun will shine brighter then ...... emoticon

Trying to find a solution I came up with a few bright ideas ...... Like .......the
power of song ............. emoticon

That is when I thought about the nature of birds ....... They are always happy .....

And they seem to have something to sing about every day ........

And this pair ............. do not care if they don't carry a tune in the bucket .....
All that seems to be required is a pair of vocals and the willingness to
screech it out ...........

But if you don't have an instrument .......Maybe you can find a friend who does........

And if you really want to be corny and have some good laughs .......... Do what
my hubby and I did the other night ..... (no kidding!) ...... we got on a silly song
medley singing to one another (no one could chirp on tune!) and could not stop laughing ........ They are good little top-notes! emoticon .......

Or At the very least .......... put some music on with a good beat and start dancing ..........

I know for sure it can't hurt ........... emoticon

I don't sing enough - on my own. I loved barbershop, but maybe I'll try next shower I take.

I sing all the time and find that it really does make me happy. I also sit outside on my patio and listen to and enjoy the song of our birdie friends....that also puts a smile on my face. Music doesn't motivate me to move but it sure does help me move once I get started!! Congrats on the Motivator's about time!!

I like to sing old songs to my kids and listen to them crack up at how goofy the lyrics are.....
Everybody was kung fu fighting, those kicks were fast as lightning...
I'm never gonna dance again, guilty feet have got no rhythm...
Wastin' away again in Margaritaville, searchin' for my lost shaker of salt...
Working at the carwash...
It's just your jive talkin' tellin' me lies...
Lucy in the sky with diamonds...
The biggest kick I ever got was doing a thing called the crocodile rock...
Saturday night I was downtown working for the FBI, sitting in a nest of bad men, whiskey bottles piling high....long cool woman in a black dress...
And because I was born in the sixties, I know ALOT of silly songs ~
awwwwwwwww freak out....

I'm checking the I liked this box!!! emoticon
Gotta go sing now!
I especially love to sing in the car - makes people look which gives me a reason to smile and wave. LOL!!!

I used to be told that I "couldn't carry a tune in a bucket" and stopped singing as a child. As I became mature enough to stop caring what others thought, I started to sing again too. Great reminder that music stirs the soul!

I agree, singing, even if off key, has a way of brightening your mood. At least listening to some music does if you don't feel like singing. emoticon

Oh I love this blog! Sooooo true . . . . DH and I have so much fun doing silly stuff like that. It's a rare thing when we don't have music of some sort going. Even when we're working in the yard.

We don't watch TV programs or movies, but we have a ton of music dvds and vhs tapes (yes, we still have a vhs player too!) and lots of musical instruments.

It is great fun, entertainment and therapy . . . emoticon

Great blog!!! I liked this one!
I dare anyone to sing or dance to any " Motown" and not feel happiness or in the least, some energy! And I cannot sit still listening to "Footloose" or the like either. emoticon emoticon
