I'd spent a couple of quiet hours at the beach, reading and people watching. In my black tankini with my gold straw fedora.
And was at the convenience store on the way home. Buying my weekend papers. Eyeing all of the scoop ice cream flavours. Chapman's is a great brand. They had strawberry fields; Canadian maple walnut, mint chocolate chip, butterscotch . . . and about 15 more.
Hmmm. Looked at the potato chips. Picked up several bags of 'em. Family size bags . . . but I was not thinking about sharing any with any family members actually. Potential treat for a family of one. Ketchup chips? Don't like those a whole lot. BBQ chips? Not my fave. Dill and sour cream? Salt and vinegar? Plain Lays? Just as many calories as kettle chips but not nearly as good. And they didn't have any kettle chips.
OK then. That's $8.50 for the 3 newspapers.
"You don't want any ice cream? Nothing else?" The convenience store lady grinned at me in a friendly way.
"Oh yes I do," I replied. And smiled back. "But, I'm not having any."
AND left the store, came home and enjoyed my last bowlful of chilled scape soup with a little trail mix and some fresh raspberries and some blueberries for dessert.
Gotta keep fitting into that tankini!!
